TOPIC: RECALIBRATING PEDAGOGY AFTER LOCKDOWN

INTRODUCTION
We, the future generation and the part of this developing nation are severely being impacted by COVID-19 pandemic situation. This pandemic situation is largely affecting various up growing sectors followed by the education sector. This not only led to the loss of examination of primary, secondary students or Nursery school admissions but also made the students giving board exams or other competitive exams to suffer the major loss as these were to happen during the period of March and April. When No solution to this Pandemic was seen then government ordered to go for the E-learning concept. Due to this, another paradigm shift is seen in the educational pattern is that it has framed itself from a live classroom sessions to a live video calling sessions that is what we call as “Digital Technology”.
PROBLEMS BEING FACED DURING THE INITIAL STEP TOWARDS ONLINE CLASSES/EDUCATION:
As days are passing by, continue closure of all educational institutions will not only have an impact on the learning system of the country but ultimately be affecting nation’s economic development. Although the Ministry of Human Resource Development is ensuring the continuation of learning process via alternative measurements like E- Learning but it has yet not reached to a certain successful level Moreover it has become a challenging environment for teachers as well.
This is due to the following reasons:
Many parents are still there who cannot afford the price of a Smartphone. This involves students studying in government school and their parents are working on a lower wages.
We cannot assure all the parents to be educated enough to operate Smartphone’s to let their child have an E-learning class.
Teachers are not able to have proper look at the concept understanding ability criteria of a student.
Teachers are not able to monitor the student in terms of work completion, activeness of the child etc.
These above mentioned issues gives rise to the challenging step towards the change in the education pattern due to this pandemic. Thinking about that these challenges and not being able to move forward can lead to an increase an illiteracy rate and making the nation a backward one. So, we need to take few measurements and to frame certain changes in the pedagogy or teaching style which includes, learning pattern, syllabus etc. that can eventually help in upgrading the pandemic loss in the field of education.
A CHANGE IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION:
However, the education system is really looking forward to have solutions to cope in this sector to work in tandem and improve in quality. Pedagogy in digital education is an important link between course content, teachers, students and technology to carry on the process of e-learning. This pedagogy to be successfully implemented, it must includes accurate teaching material, teachers – students interaction, internet connectivity, availability of laptops/palmtops/desktop, online software’s and other useful resources.
Going forward, the use of digital learning environment will lead to new era where excellent faculties will be available to provide with best education after gaining much experience time to time. If the suitable pedagogy will be implemented then surely that time is not too far when our nation will be leading a great step in terms of education pyramid with the help of best IT’s. This will have an advantage for the students going in other countries to have better education as in the upcoming settlement students will get everything locally.
PEDAGOGIES THAT CAN BE ADOPTED IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION AFTER THE LOCKDOWN
In a T.V. interview on India Today, Anant Agarwal (founder & CEO of edX), was asked a question how future education will look like. Answering this question, he said learning in school and colleges will be very different after the Corona era ends. He said the kind of flexibility and self paced learning will enable a child to learn at his own speed is just incredibly powerful and blended learning (digital learning) will give you that. Moreover he said blended learning is not a new trend, it is a trend which will be accelerated in the upcoming future because of COVID-19 pandemic. From this statement we can derive that new pedagogy or teaching style will merely be much dependent on online sessions or simply on digital style.
One advantage of this is observed, according to the feedback of the teachers and students who are a part of online teaching learning process, it is observed that students are able to ask their doubts more frequently and freely as compared to the offline classroom teaching where they face number of students because of they sometimes lack confidence in asking questions freely. So, this too drives the education process towards the digital and an independent learning.

According to me, new pedagogy may involve more of a self learning approach and less dependent on spoon feeding by the faculty. Here, in this approach, students will find ways to have better learning experience by exploring their learning environment which is currently not upto the reach when a student is only coming to the class and going back home. This is also followed by students memorizing, replicating and then many forgets after the exams are over. But learning by doing or less dependent on the teacher will help students to have a long term approach about learning.
Adopting this free style practical approach will contribute a major part in the upcoming bright future of the nation. Though, practically thinking, it will not be as easy as it seems. Internet connection, Smartphone’s to support the applications for the same, and if the student can easily have an access to the Smartphone’s than the cost of data may be an expensive part and therefore can be a challenging one too. We can even think to overcome this data expensive issue by providing free access to internet only for using learning applications by students.

Another pedagogy that could be guessed is to minimize the strength of the students in a particular class to keep the check on social distancing. This would further be beneficial to keenly observe the performance of the particular student more accurately which will enhance teachers work over that particular weak part of the student by observing them as slow learner, or suffering with any other issue and ultimately giving rise to the intellectual level of the student. Teachers can make them learn using various other techniques which they could not learnt before.

Pedagogies for secondary, senior secondary and higher education may give up rise in the reduction of those subjects which are less essential for the student or we can assume the pedagogies to include the important subjects that would help students in their future or future jobs which can easily be studied in a digital manner or in a practical manner as well.

CONCLUSION
From the above few pedagogies, we can conclude that the education patterns will not be same as before. There will surely be certain changes to go with the flow of promoting education in a digital manner and other approaches that can be kept in view to provide a positive push towards it. These changes will bring out a new independent nation with well qualified nation builders.
